Terms and Conditions for Deutsch con Truco Group Courses

By registering, you accept and agree to the following general terms and conditions for Deutsch con Truco group courses.

1. General

The cost of course materials is not included in the course fee. These costs will be listed separately on the invoice and amount to a flat CHF 30.- for the digital edition. Participants typically receive course materials and additional documents as PDF files.

2. Registration and Payment Terms

By registering, participants confirm that they have read and agreed to these terms and conditions. Swiss Code of Obligations regulations apply otherwise.

Registration is binding. Upon registration for a course, participants will receive a confirmation from Deutsch con Truco. Once the desired group course is organized, participants will receive the course schedule and invoice separately via email. The payment deadline specified on the invoice is binding. Upon request, course fees can be paid in installments. For installment payments, the first installment is due at the beginning of the course, with subsequent installments to be paid monthly or every two months according to the payment deadline. Registration, along with the course schedule sent separately via email, obligates payment of the course fees. Failure to pay the course fees does not constitute withdrawal. In case of payment default, Deutsch con Truco reserves the right to charge CHF 20.- for the 2nd and 3rd payment reminders. If payment is still not received, Deutsch con Truco reserves the right to initiate legal action.

3. Placement Test and Consultation

Participants with existing language proficiency are requested to take a placement test and have an optional consultation. Deutsch con Truco provides the placement test on its website. The test and consultation are free and non-binding. Final course placement is determined after the consultation.

4. Entry After Course Start

If there are available slots, participants can join an ongoing course in consultation with authorized individuals. All obligations in this case apply for the remaining course duration according to the course program. The course fee is reduced and calculated from the entry date.

5. Course Continuation

Before the end of the course, participants may receive a course continuation form for the next level. Courses will continue, whenever possible, at the same scheduled time.

6. Shorter Duration of Participation

A shorter duration of participation is possible with available course slots, provided an early exit is specified in writing on the registration form when registering for the course period.

7. Termination or Postponement of a Group Course Before the Start

For cancellations received more than 14 days before the course start, Deutsch con Truco charges a processing fee of CHF 50.-. Cancellation must be in writing via email, with the date of receipt at Deutsch con Truco considered the effective date. For cancellations received less than 14 days before the course start, a processing fee of CHF 100.- applies. In this regard, Deutsch con Truco expressly reserves the right, for cancellations received less than 14 days before the course start, to claim damages (the missed course costs) in accordance with Article 404 (2) of the Swiss Code of Obligations.

8. Termination of a Group Course After Start

Group courses have a fixed duration and generally cannot be terminated after the course has started. Course fees must be paid on time, and there is no refund for already paid course fees. In case of prolonged illness with a medical certificate, a credit note for a later course may be issued. The credit note cannot be cashed and is valid for one year from the date of issue. The credit note can be used to attend an identical language course at Deutsch con Truco.

9. Absences in Group Lessons: Holidays, Illness, and Other Absences

If a group lesson cannot be attended, participants must inform Deutsch con Truco as early as possible via email. Deutsch con Truco is reachable at deutschcontruco@gmail.com from Monday to Saturday. Missed lessons cannot be made up or refunded. This applies even in cases of illness and other justified absences not within the school's responsibility. The costs will be charged to the course participant as usual.

10. Organization and Implementation of Group Courses

Group courses have a minimum and maximum number of participants. In case of insufficient participants, the course may be postponed. For organizational reasons, Deutsch con Truco may reschedule or merge existing and planned courses. If participants overestimate their language level when registering for a course, and the group teacher determines that they have too low or too high a language level, Deutsch con Truco reserves the right to change the course in consultation with the participants or exclude them from the course. If such a course change occurs due to the participant's careless registration, they are obliged to pay for the registered course. Each lesson lasts 45 minutes, and for didactic reasons, there is a minimum of two lessons per session.

Participants have no entitlement to a specific course design. However, participants are welcome to provide suggestions for improvement.

There is no entitlement to choose the teacher. Typically, the entire group course is taught by the same teacher. In case of teacher illness or exceptional circumstances, a teacher may be replaced.

11. Reservations

Deutsch con Truco reserves the right to allocate course places that are not paid at the beginning of the course. For organizational reasons, SLA Basel reserves the right to reschedule, redistribute, and merge classes.

12. Course Confirmation

At the end of the group course, and with a minimum attendance of 80%, Deutsch con Truco is happy to provide a course confirmation upon request.

13. Data Protection

Deutsch con Truco takes the protection of participants' personal data seriously and adheres to the provisions of data protection laws. Personal data is used exclusively for internal purposes such as correspondence and information about new offers.
